Ann Curry

Ann Curry was born in America and is an accomplished photographer as well as a journalist. Since more than 45 years she has focused her work on reporting the suffering of people, particularly in natural disasters and wars. Curry has reported on wars around the world, including in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry is a journalist anchorperson on television and reporter that was born on the 26th of June 1956. Her most well-known work is in Today the program, which is an National Broadcasting Co. morning news broadcasted program. Curry was well-known for her reporting of human rights crises, natural disasters and other emergencies that occurred within war-torn areas. Curry's maternal grandmother is Japanese and her father is an US Navy Sargent. She met her mother while working with the father of her parents in Japan following World War II. Because of her father's military service, her family has moved quite a bit. Curry graduated from high school within Ashland Oregon. In 1978, she graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. As a child she had the privilege of being exposed to diverse cultures. The compassion she displays towards global affairs may be due to her experience. Ann Curry has been a famous American journalist since the early 1990s. Curry did not have the opportunity to be a student at a particular school in San Diego, Alameda Oregon, or Virginia during the two-year period due to her family moved often. Ashland is where she completed the high school. Her journey to an impressive career when she started her broadcasting career as an intern in KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon. She was later the first female news reporter at the station at the age of 22. Following that, she went on to become an anchor and reporter for KGW KGW, which was an NBC affiliate station in Portland. After four years she moved to Los Angeles and became a reporter for KCBS TV. In the course of her work with the station for six years that she received the two Emmy Awards.
